Today a guy in one of my classes was talking to me. He was kind of jabbering on and seemed a little off socially, but I thought, "Well, maybe he's just a late bloomer and needs to grow into himself or something."

But then he showed me the initials "S. G." carved into his arm and said they were for his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. And then added that now he's dating Demi Lovato. I stared at him and blinked and he said, "You don't believe any of that do you?"

What the fuck should I make of this?

Why do I have no motivation to go to school anymore?

I plan to buy a netbook some time after Christmas. I'd like to have enough storage to save funny pictures from the internets and keep my mp3s there, and I need just enough processing power to play Neopets, Facebook, Livejournal, and Dragon Cave. I'm certainly not going to ask the Best Buy monkeys to recommend a model, and price is an issue. What minimum required specs should I be looking for?

Im not happy with the woman we have been seeing, and her fees are atrocious!

We have been going private, but dont want to spend the $4000 (which we might get a bit back from Govt Medicare/our private health fund) for the next appointment (considering this woman arrives at work an hour late, and can have you waiting 2 hours for a simple appointment), and wont even be in Melbourne,Victoria (Australia) when the baby actually comes (we will be in country Western Australia) so arent fussy about who I see.

We want to change to the public system, but I have no idea how!

My son is eleven weeks old (tomorrow). He's been a healthy (EBF, full term) baby, and in the 75th percentile. However, I have never taken him anywhere (aside from the pediatrician). I am terrified of H1N1 flu. I'm also super paranoid that people will try to touch him. When we took him to the hospital early on for his second PKU (heel stick) a woman touched him - and part of me died inside. I was horrified (secretly) that she would infect him with something horrible. I'm a SAHM - so it's easy to keep him cloistered away. But the holidays are coming up and I know that my family will all want to hold him and touch him and pass him back and forth. And I'd really like to be able to have his picture taken with Santa - but I can't stop thinking about all the dirty babies that Santa will likely have held before...

So, any ideas for overcoming my phobia? I'd like to be able to take him shopping with me someday. Or should I just continue to shelter him during flu season?

i posted here a while back about missing some birth control and being worried about that, plus being on antibiotics. i was told my chances of pregnancy were absymally low...
i ended up with about 3 days of spotting a day after i'd posted, from the missed BC i suppose, so i ended up not going back again for another test, because i figured hey, that'd be a pretty good sign all is well, right?
then saturday night i ended up drinking. there was rum involved, but plenty of water with and even some food later on at night. i woke up feeling fine, kept feeling fine all afternoon - and then about maybe 6 sunday evening started to feel sick to my stomach. nothing else, no headache or anything.
i thought at first i was getting sick or it was caused by the drinking, but... it hasn't gone away. at all. it's been now more than 48 hours since i drank and i still feel nauseated, and not sick in any other way.
is this A Really Bad Sign or am i just possibly still feeling the effects of drinking?
i'd like to know before i go into the health center and ask for a blood pregnancy test. i don't like looking paranoid/irresponsible.

tl;dr: Customer talks about wanting to shoot "bad people" who would "do things," follows it up by telling the cashier the thrilling story of his restraining order. Store employees huddle up on way out of building and spend five minutes outside "jokingly" checking each others' cars for stray homicidal maniacs before finally feeling safe enough to drive away.

Suppose that someone gives you a project to do at work. You have to scour the internet for ads for certain companies (so, obviously SFW sites). Google is great for print ads, but you're supposed to get ads from websites, too. These certain companies are supposedly the top brands that market to college students.

Where the hell would you go to look for these ads?

I've been up and down advertising blogs and trade blogs and Facebook and [ew] MySpace and apparently no college kids need to be marketed to on CNN, MSNBC or NPR. I'm seriously drawing a blank. What websites do you college kids read that have ads on them?

Or, if you prefer, what side dish do you most look forward to at holiday get-togethers? Not green bean casserole, though, please. Everyone SAYS green bean casserole, but no one ever actually eats it.
